Then You Changed

from Hanoi Social Club by Whatthe Animalssay

about

This was written firstly as a punk song for a project I was doing. I later realized that the puck songs weren't very good but that this one, when played in my usual style, we quite beautiful.

lyrics

We were settling down gonna buy a house,
bought a bird and put a cage all around it,
flying was just for us then you changed.

Bought a motorbike to take us out at night,
so we could catch the stars,
pretend we were the only ones.
You said you were happy but then you changed.

Fumbled for the words crumbled as I heard,
that you were moving on,
that I no longer belonged to you, and you to me.

so I don't look up at the stars anymore,
and I set that damn bird free.
